AeroPress: the inverted method

The inverted AeroPress method gives you full control over the contact time between water and coffee — without the fear that something will drain through before you are ready.
You flip the device with the plunger pointing down, pour in coffee and water, stir, and wait. When you are ready, you flip the whole thing onto the cup and press.
What you gain
More steeping time — up to 2:00 minutes safely. A softer, more balanced profile. Less bitterness with darker roasts.
Recipe
17 g of coffee, medium grind. 240 g of water at 88 °C. Flip the AeroPress upside down.
Pour all the water in. Stir three times with a spoon. Place the filter.
Flip carefully onto the cup. Wait 15 seconds for things to settle.
Press slowly and evenly over 30 seconds. Do not rush it.
AeroPress is the most forgiving method I know. Even when you mess up, the cup will still be good.
