1. Right of withdrawal from a distance contract
Pursuant to Art. 50 of the Bulgarian Consumer Protection Act, you have the right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 (fourteen) calendar days of receiving the goods, without giving reasons and without owing compensation or penalty. The period runs from the date on which you, or a third party indicated by you (other than the courier), physically take possession of the goods. Where multiple goods are ordered separately, the period runs from receipt of the last item.
2. How to exercise your right of withdrawal
To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must notify us in writing of your decision within the 14-day period. Send an unequivocal statement to:

Please include in your notice:
- Order number
- Recipient first name, last name and address
- Contact phone number
- IBAN for the refund (only if you paid online)
- Order date and date of receipt of the goods
You may also use the standard withdrawal form per Annex 6 to Art. 47(1)(8) of the Bulgarian Consumer Protection Act. The burden of proof that you exercised the right of withdrawal in time is yours.
3. Returning the goods
After notifying us of your withdrawal, you must return the goods or hand them over without undue delay, and in any event no later than 14 days from the date of your notice. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the 14-day period expires. We will provide a return address in reply to your notice.
The goods must be returned in their original packaging, in their entirety, and without traces of use or impairment of resalable condition. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics, and proper functioning of the goods.
Return shipping costs are borne by you, unless we have agreed to cover them, or unless the goods are defective.
4. Refund
We will refund all payments received from you, including initial delivery costs (except any additional costs if you chose a delivery method other than the standard one), no later than 14 days from the date on which we received the goods back, or proof from you that you have sent the goods, whichever is earlier.
The refund is issued by the same means used for the original payment, unless you have explicitly agreed otherwise. For cash on delivery, the amount is refunded to the IBAN you provide. No additional fees are charged for the refund.
5. Exceptions to the right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal does not apply in the cases listed in Art. 57 of the Bulgarian Consumer Protection Act, including:
- Goods made to the consumer’s specifications or clearly personalised
- Sealed goods that have been unsealed after delivery and which cannot be returned for hygiene or health-protection reasons (e.g. freshly roasted coffee with an opened bag)
- Goods which, by their nature, become inseparably mixed with other items after delivery
6. Statutory guarantee of conformity
Independently of the right of withdrawal, in the event of non-conformity with the contract you are entitled to free remedy — repair or replacement — within 24 months of the date of delivery, pursuant to the Bulgarian Act on the Provision of Digital Content and Sale of Goods. To file a complaint, send a written notice to hello@kafetama.com with a description of the defect and a copy of the proof of purchase.
